What is SSC MTS and Havaldar?

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. The function of SSC is to recruit employees of various categories for various ministries, central government departments, and organizations. To fulfill this purpose, SSC conducts examinations every year by issuing notifications for different categories at the national level.

SSC Staff Selection Commission-Multi Tasking Staff (SSC MTS) is a national-level Group C (Level 1 according to Pay Matrix 7) general central non-gazetted and non-ministerial service. Through this, recruitment is done for various posts like peon, draftee, watchman, jamadar, sweeper, gardener, junior operator, etc. in the ministry, department, office of the Government of India, and various constitutional bodies, statutory bodies, tribunals, etc. in various states and union territories.

Havaldar is a national-level Group C (Level 1 according to Pay Matrix 7) general central non-gazetted and non-ministerial service. It recruits the posts of Havaldar in the Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs (CBIC) and the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS and Havaldar 2024

There are some important eligibility criteria for recruitment of SSC MTS and Havaldar 2024 that are very important to fulfill. Candidates must understand the following minimum required eligibility criteria, which are as follows: citizenship, age limit, and educational qualification. Citizenship

A candidate must be either: 

a citizen of India, or 

a subject of Nepal, or 

a subject of Bhutan, or 

a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri 

Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit for SSC MTS 2024

The minimum age limit for SSC MTS is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 25 years. Candidates born not before 02.08.1999 and not later than 01.08.2006.

Age Limit for Havaldar 2024

The minimum age limit for SSC MTS is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 27 years. Candidates born not before August 2, 1997, and not later than August 1, 2006, for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, the Department of Revenue, and a few posts of MTS in various departments.

Apart from the above age limit, various reserved categories have been provided age relaxation as per government rules, which are as follows:

Educational Qualification

To fill out the form for SSC MTS and Havaldar, candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th class) examination or equivalent from a recognized board on or before the cut-off date, i.e., 01-08-2024.

SSC MTS and Havaldar Application Fee

Application fee for SSC MTS and Havaldar is 100/-. Fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit card.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen (ESM) category are exempted from paying the application fee. In addition to this, female candidates are also exempted from paying the application fee for the SSC MTS and Havaldar 2024 exam.
